Dr. Paul Zorch grew up in Harwick, PA, a small town near Pittsburgh, PA. He met his wife Cheryl while attending Washington and Jefferson College where he received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry, graduating Magnum Cum Laude. He continued his education at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA where he received his Medical Doctorate degree. He returned to Washington, PA where he completed his residency in family medicine at Washington Hospital, where he was Chief Resident in his 3rd year.
Dr. Zorch continued his career, moving with Cheryl and his growing family to Dover, TN where he practiced in a rural clinic for the Public Health Service for 3 years. There, he was named Southeast Region Physician of the Year. Returning to PA, the Zorch’s raised their 5 children while he worked full time in the Emergency Departments of Latrobe and Indiana Hospitals. Throughout this time, he has maintained his Board Certification in Family Medicine.
In 2009 he, Cheryl, and 2 of their children moved to Hilton Head Island where he has continued to practice as the Medical Director of the Emergency Department of Coastal Carolina Hospital. He serves as the Chairman of the Department of Medicine and Director of the hospitals’ stroke program. He has watched the hospital grow and prosper and feels very fortunate to be a part of it all.
Now, he is excited to be a part of the Pulseology team and to be able to provide care to keep people well so he doesn’t have to see them in the ER!
In his free time he enjoys being with his wife, children and grandchildren, as well as fishing, boating, golfing, gardening, and photography.
